Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I need therapy?
If you are seeking therapy, your interest is enough to let us know that there is something going on internally that you feel you need to follow. How you respond to the process and what ends up happening cannot be determined ahead of time, and sometimes things can feel more unsettled before they feel stabilized. This is why ongoing, honest examination of how the therapy feels is critical to the treatment.
How often do I need to come to therapy, and for how long?
In order to start building a therapeutic relationship, patients will be expected to come to therapy once a week at a consistent day and time. Additional sessions may be offered for those who are interested in processing more deeply or who are in need of more containment. Less than weekly frequency is not usually possible or encouraged. If exceptional circumstances require a shift in scheduling, we will of course discuss those options.
The length of treatment and the depth of the work we do together is dependent on how the therapy and the therapeutic relationship feel to you, which will be explored and processed during sessions.
What is your fee?
Please inquire directly about current session fees. Sessions are 50-minutes long.
I have a limited number of sliding scale appointments available to those in significant financial need.
Can I use my insurance?
I can provide a Superbill of our sessions which can be submitted to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement you receive for “out of network
services is dependent on your insurance plan. I will review this process with you if this is something you are interested in.
Are you offering remote sessions?
I am offering remote sessions as well as in-person sessions, both subject to availability. The most important factor in this decision is deciding what is most sustainable to you, as consistency is imperative. Remote sessions are also offered in cases of emergency or illness.
